Clinical Hypnotherapy is on par with clinical psychology. Often, psychologists and psychiatrists refer to us. The primary difference is that clinical hypnotherapy works through the subconscious mind, while psychotherapy works with the cognitive mind. We don’t want to say if one or the other is better, as we do both. During your evaluation, we will consider what the approach is best for your situation and personality type. Sometimes doing both is the best approach.
The word clinical refers to mental health issues. Those are internal issues people have like an emotional injury like PTSD or some trauma. External environmental issues like working environments, or people who just try to abuse you, don’t necessarily imply mental health issues. Those can be dealt with by general hypnotherapy or clinical hypnotherapy. During your intake, we will help you decide what the best approach is.
One of the quick self-tests is does the problem follow you like a shadow, or is it specific to a person or location that you can walk away from.
